Everything with gardening is an experiment. Trying your hand one plant at a time. Will it grow? Will it thrive? Does it have what it needs?
For a long time I didn't grow anything. I scarcely kept alive the most robust of houseplants. I forgot to water. I didn't find a sunny enough window. My thumb was brown.
But brown thumbs can turn green. After giving up a hundred times, I got one small win. One small win that survived a few years gave me the hope to take one step further. And then one more. Gardening is a win either way—you win by succeeding or you win by learning. Sometimes it takes a lot of learning seasons before you get a succeeding season.
