Seeing in Color

Have you ever walked around around in a fog? Nothing seems to matter as much as it should. Nothing seems clear or inspiring. You're just meandering, going through the motions, and then voila! The fog lifts and suddenly in the bright clean sunshine you are seeing things in color, when you never knew that was even a thing. You spot beauty where it didn't exist before. You want to climb mountains and sing praises in your most Fiddler on the Roof voice.

What causes that?

Divine revelation? The stars aligning? Caffeine? I just know I want it more. But I also know that without the fog, the colors would be less significant. I am thankful for winter. Looking forward to spring.
