Just to be clear, that's not me. I have not adopted anyone. I tried once, but it didn't work out. But I have a LOT of adoptive mom friends and clients. These are warrior women. They've been through the wringer of emotions and judgement and judicial cluster-cuss—not that that makes them anything but human.
They've told me stories of heartbreak and confusion and fear and joy. They've told on themselves for feeling less than ideal in their frustration toward their kids. They've given up and they've tried again. They're not perfect, but they're willing.
